This technique is called “The Hold”. Here is how you can perform it:

  1. Pick up the baby and fold his arms across his chest. Secure the baby’s arms with your hand, which also supports the baby’s chin.
  2. Hold the baby’s bottom with your other hand.
  3. Hold the baby at a 45-degree angle and gently rock him.

Use this technique on babies up to 2 or 3 months old. Older babies become too heavy to be held in this position.
