All of you who ever had a cold know how it shifts from the sinuses down into the lungs, and soon after comes the sneezes, runny nose and the feeling like someone is pressing your chests.
Dealing with a chest cold can be really dreary, since having mucus in the lungs makes breathing quite difficult.
Instead going to the drug store to buy a cough syrup, we will give you a recipe of syrup that you can prepare at home. This home-made syrup will help you remove the mucus out of your lungs and feel better faster. Also, children can take this syrup.
– 1 tablespoon of flaxseed
– 1 tablespoon of marshmallow root
– 1 tablespoon of sage
– A quart of filtered water
– A cup of pure maple syrup
– 1 lemon sliced
How to prepare it:
Put water in a pan and add the maple syrup. Preheat the syrup on medium heat. Turn the stove on medium heat when the syrup is melted and add the rest of the ingredients. Let it boil for 15 minutes and remove the mixture from the stove.
Place the syrup in a glass jar after you strain it. After it gets cold, take one tablespoon of the syrup 3 times a day. Keep the syrup in the fridge between uses.
Use the syrup until you feel better and the cough is gone.
Different Ways to Clear Mucus from Lungs
There are a few other ways to clear the mucus from your lungs. One way is to use postural drainage. This includes moving the body in different ways in order to drain the different lungs area. The mucus will drain into the mouth and so you can spit it out.
Another method for eliminating mucus in the lungs is chest percussion. It is done by clapping the chest with a cupped hand in different areas. This moves the mucus from the smaller areas of the lungs to the larger areas, which makes it easier for the mucus to be coughed out.
